Description
I am an immigrant to the United States. My family endured the arduous process of a family-based petition to obtain what all immigrants desire, a better future for themselves and their family. I recall the years of separation and suffering; that is an indelible memory I will always carry with me. Witnessing first-hand the sacrifice and desire to obtain US residency and eventually becoming a US Citizen is the driving impetus behind my personal passion for immigration law and helping others to reach their dreams.
I graduated from Penn State University in 1993 and immediately entered CUNY Law School inspired by the late Haywood Burns, Esq., the then Dean of the CUNY Law School. Haywood Burns, was a passionate civil rights attorney that was the embodiment of the motto of the law school, “law in the service of human needs”. Although I was also accepted to University of Miami Law School, Haywood Burns was the principal reason I decided to attend CUNY and I never regretted this decision. It further solidified my belief that as a community we should always strive to serve the public in a selfless manner.
